Hey Everyone!!! I was thinking of hiring an interior designer/decorator to decorate my condo................. kind of like on HGTV. Well, I've decided to do it myself since I'm such of huge fan of Kreative endeavors!!! Here is my attempt at designing and decorating my space!!!!! On a side note, my sister just hired me to decorate her new home. I'm so honored. I don't think she knows she's in for one eclectic ride............Haha!!! She's a huge fan of beige walls. As you can see from the pictures below, I'm a huge huge fan of color. My favorite HGTV show is color splash. Color makes me happy and makes the rooms come alive. Of course I'm going to respect her beige-loving theme and work in some color accessories. For my condo, I painted the living and dining rooms a gold-orange-brown combo, the bathrooms, a sea blue combo, my bedroom, a misty-lilac combo and the kitchen, some formulation of the living room. My Kreative space is pink!!!!

You have some NICE rooms, KM! I can see why your sister is hiring you.
Your bar looks great and your closet... I wish I could be that neat and organized!
Your home is amazing! I love bright colors for the home and fashion art as well! anyway just wanted to say hi and I love your blog:)
Your home looks beautiful!!! You definitely didn't need to hire an interior decorator; you're one yourself!! I love, love, love your closet! I wish I could hire you to decorate my space...then again my space is almost too small to decorate! :-)
Wow! Your place is haute!
Wow your place looks awesome! I think my whole apartment could fit in your bathroom, but that is West Village living for you. I really love the usage of chocolate brown and the ice blue contrast. Those are some of my favorite colors together for interiors.
I also am a huge fan of orange. If you saw my apartment you'd think it was an orange/chocolate/ice blue fiesta!
Anyhow, I'm glad you did it yourself, it looks fabulous!
I love your space. I would never think of using orange on the walls. (I'm more like your sister I feel) But, I love the idea. You may have converted me.
I absolutely love the elaborate bedposts, especially in such dark wood! It makes a great contrast to the pale purple walls. And the framed Paris pictures are adorable. :)
It's always been a pipe dream of mine to try my hand at interior design. Your place looks great, especially with all the cute little knickknacks!
I'm so envious of that closet! The orange in the living room is great, with the dark wood accents it really sets of the framed prints beautifully. My husband's study is a very similiar color orange, it's his favorite shade. It's a good thing I don't have cable or I would have a hard time peeling myself away from HGTV, I totally agree with your feelings about color making a room come alive. Good luck decorating your sisters home.
holy HELL I need that pillow!!! Come on, it's my birthday!
Help a girl out ::laughing::
and I LOVe the music...............
we are the same age (good or bad???) thanks for commenting on my blog.
your home is beautiful and you should be so proud! i want to do my master bedroom the colors of your bathroom.
i love that poster, if you are giving things away to mia, then i want the Milan Style poster. haha
Dayum!!!! I am utterly envious! In fact, I am beefing you now for having such a cool pad. Love it! Especially the throw pillow with Men, Coffee, etc on it. Delish!
ARe you part of the revolution?

Your condo looks great! The gold-orange-brown combo room is definitely my favorite :)
I have that same color on the walls. Love all the rooms and the use of wall art. Also I really like the contrast in the living room between the kakhi sofa and the Gord colored walls.
Oh, I loooove this song!!! I recently heard it in the movie "Phat Girlz" and I had to play it over and over...makes me wanna be a african queen...instead of a Norwegian iceprincess:)))
I love your kitchen, your wardrobe, your pink creative spot AND the wonderful bed...wow!
Wishing you a nice weekend:)
Your bathroom...I had the same color scheme in my old dining room. I loved it so much, when we bought our place, I used it in my bedroom. Very nice work.
I seriously envy that closet. :]
Cool cool space!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love your condo! You have some great stuff.
I love traveling but with my husband and I both starting new businesses right now (me speaking and writing, my husband in the web space or something like that), we can't afford to.
I'm glad you stopped by my blog, b/c I love your blog and am glad to have discovered it!
I love your apartment and the orange walls! It looks like an apartment you want to hang out at. The biggest compliment you can get is when no one wants to leave. Thanks for the great comments on my blog! Now go get a MO's Bacon Bar STAT!:-)
wow- you live in style lady! I love your house. GREAT JOB!
Thanks for your comment on my blog as well -- LOVE the rooms. Lots of warm, inviting styles. Your sister's a lucky girl for recognizing your fantastic eye!
I love your place. It's so bright and comfy looking. I think color can do amazing things to help personalize a space, and yours looks fantastic. I can see why your sister wants you to do her space. I am a big fan of interior design myself, and my favorite HGTV show is Small Space/Big Style. Have you seen it? I have seen Color Splash as well, and it's great. David is truly an artist with paint.
Well, I hope you have fun with your sister's space. I'll be checking your blog to see pics if you post them. :)
Your closet is so nice and organized.
Beautiful condo! And ya know what? Last weekend my husband bought the "Milan Style" plaque for our daughters' bathroom. Nice!
Enjoy! The color is so beautiful and quite right for the African-ish themes!
Looks great! I love many of the colors that you chose.
I am so grooving on your kitchen. It's all beautiful, but wow... Love the kitchen!
I love that bookcase...it looks lovely! all those wonderful reads in it...oh and thanks for stopping by my blog too!
hey there =)
thanks for your comment which light up my day!
your pics are way more awesome than mine =)
cheers!
Your closet... Awesome... Someday... :)
I am in LOVE with the 4 prints of the women in different cities.
love it!!
It looks like you did a great job! And sooo super organized!
Beautiful..Thanks for the comments on my blog.
U 've got a nice Ad. spot.
I love the color of your living room and your kitchen (I was just looking at similar cabinets this weekend). I'm a beige-wall person like your sister so be gentle LOL.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'm not sure if you checked the follow up button so I'll answer your question here too.
My machine is a Singer 6038, I primarily bought it because Singer is a popular brand and I figured they have to be pretty good LOL. As you can see, I am by no means an expert.
There are a lot of sewing machine reviews on Patternreview.com and my sewing teacher mentioned that the older all metal Singer machines run perfectly, so you may want to check estate sales or Hoobly to see if you can find one without making a large investment up front.
Love your place! Those prints in your bedroom are too cute!
you did a great job with the decorating. Love the living room area and your pink girly-girl space. HGTV is addictive...tv crack -- lol
Hi commitmentphobe :), i didt know anyone read my blog. I loves your decorating..LOVES IT!!!
Beautiful space... Lovely and stimulating! I'm also a big fan of color. It does so much for the spirit and mood! :-)
i love it. and thanks for the comments. i'm also trying to decide what to do with my bedroom. i have a bed with a huge head board (argentine red wood) and I'm not planning on giving it away - but I have no idea how to integrate it in my room. it has kinda a nautical look to it but the rest of my stuff more west-african leaning. by the way, love your blog!
love the living room colors! I bet it gives you a nice energy boost in the mornings!
Thanks Naki!!! It sure does :-)
Not bad at all! I commend the lush and vibrant orange tones that appears pleasing to the eye. With your chops as refined as a person with an interior decorating career, you don't need help when you can obviously handle the work! ^_^
