"Kanye keeps it real. He touches the people. You never know how words can save a person's life, physically or otherwise," she tells the Baltimore Sun. "People like Martin Luther King or Mahatma Gandhi or, in my view, Barack Obama, or Jesus Christ — people whose job it is to tell the truth — I see that in Kanye. Now, people like you are gonna go, 'Oh, Kanye's mom said he's like Jesus!' but ... when you have a gift, you didn't get it by yourself. ... Your truth is your truth."
Again, I'm confused--With the exception of Jesus Walks and Diamonds are Forever--what truths is this fool telling? Writing two thoughtful songs does not make a MLK, Gandhi or Obama. Should we just forget about "Gold Digger"? Donda has a PhD and I'm sure she goes to church--does she really think that some crybaby, "suspect" hip-hop performer saves and touches lives like our Lord and Savior? C'mon. Those weekly/monthly checks from her son are really clouding her judgment. What she needs is a "reality check". Dr. Donda--your baby is an entertainer and producer. With the exception of that now infamous outburst about Bush, he has not spoke out on any "truths" that affect or uplift his people (unless they are celebrities who he mentioned should have opened instead of Brit). We will survive if Kanye takes an early retirment (in fact, I may start a petition requesting that he do so). He has not made history as we hope Obama will do, he sure as hell isn't an advocate of peace like MLK or Ghandi, and as far as the comparison to the Lord, as MB would say "Sweet Jesus" please forgive them, for they do not know what they say.
So, I said all of that to say--Kanye comes up with a hot beat--period. He's not that special.
