Pricing Issues

For all small biz owners and [k]rafty divas, setting prices for handmade goods can be very difficult. After spending long hours, creating, taking apart, recreating, reworking and finishing your wares, you're wondering........... hmmmm....... how much do I charge for this so that it makes all this time worth it?

Apart from you COGS, you obviously take into account all the time you spent on it. Sometimes, this gets quite tricky. I stumbled onto (actually I googled) a website that discusses this issue and provides some good advice.

Check out ohboydenterprises.com for some helpful information.

Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a message! I love your blog, as everyone has said, the song African Queen that plays when you open the blog is wonderful. I did want to thank you for the link to pricing homemade products. I make jewelry and I never know how much to sell it for.

I keep forgetting to turn down my volume when I look at this site--and dangit if African Queen doesn't come blaring through. LOL. I guess it serves me right for blogging when I should be billing.

I'd def. going to check that out. It's so hard to put a price, I'm so used to giving my work as gifts sometimes it feels weird to ask money for it--though I realize I shouldn't feel that way!
