Republican Michael Patrick Carroll said, "If slavery was the price that a modern American's ancestors had to pay in order to make one an American, one should get down on one's knees every single day and thank the Lord that such price was paid."

WTF? So should it go like this - Thank you mAssa for ripping us out of homes in Africa for a tortious boat ride to America because Lawd knows what we'd of done if yall left us in Africa, without the beatings, whippings, and other violence we wouldn't have known how to act.
It is TERRIFYING to me that these people with these views are in charge or ANYTHING to do with this country. Thankful for slavery? He is in desperate need of some perspective.
